Mindfulness for Daily Living

Midlands Mental Health Clinic offers a comprehensive workshop on Mindfulness for Daily Living. Our workshops are available in Mullingar, Tullamore and Portlaoise. Change is possible – let us empower you.

Mindfulness for daily living is one of the most important tools to have in the quest for good mental health. Mindfulness is the practice for living “in the now”.

It teaches us to control our reactions to everyday stress triggers, leading to a more balanced and positive mindset.

  • What exactly is mindfulness? We’ll cover the meaning and importance of the practice

What Can I Gain from The Mindfulness for Daily Living Workshop?

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  1. Trust your intuition
When we’re anxious we’re not connected to our surroundings. This course will teach you how to return to the present using your senses.
  2. Be mindful of simple tasks
Anxiety makes us feel helpless. Being mindful of a simple task like cooking or walking subsequently helps remind us we’re in control of our choices.
  3. Do a reality check of where you are in life
Mindfulness for daily living will help you take stock and realise where exactly you are in your life. This can ease anxiety about future events and possibilities.
  4. Stop criticising yourself
Not only is anxiety painful, but we often deal with self-critical thoughts about it. Mindfulness teaches us how to replace this negativity with positivity.
  5. Find ways to channel anxious energy
Not all anxiety is bad. Like most mental events, anxiety lies on a spectrum. If your anxiety isn’t severe, this course can teach you to channel that energy into productivity.
  6. Take time out of your busy life
Mindfulness for daily living allows us to experience the natural ebb and flow of life. It teaches us to take a moment to appreciate the present.
  7. Listen more
Listening to everything – people, your body, the sound of the wind. Listening is an important mindfulness tool, and this workshop will show you how to use it.
  8. Know your triggers
What makes you anxious? Being late? Social situations? Recognising your triggers is important. This course will cover exactly how to get to grips with them.
  9. How to nurture patience
Cherishing patience is an important part of mindfulness. Impatience is a precursor to stress and anxiety.
  10. Discover your natural balance
Everyone’s tipping points are different. This mindfulness for daily living workshop will show you how to find your balance.
