Anger Management Workshop Modules
- Module 1
Welcome, Introduction and Understanding Anger
On this day, we will explain the purpose of anger management. What is anger management? Why do people need help managing their anger?
- Module 2
Your Anger Environment & Enrolling Support From People in Your Life
This module is about understanding the reasons for your anger, and furthermore how it interacts with your life. We’ll also discuss asking family and friends for support.
- Module 3
Identifying Your “Sixth Sense”/Listening to Your Gut Feelings
Have you ever had that feeling that something isn’t right when you walk into a new situation? What do you do with that information? Remember, anger is only one letter short of danger.
- Module 4
Triggers and Hot Buttons Explained
This module will be devoted to identifying your most common triggers – what pushes your buttons the most? What topics tend to make you angry instantly?
- Module 5
The Drama Triangle & The E-Factor
This module of the anger management workshop looks at interaction between ourselves and others as a cycle. You will learn more about how your anger affects your relationships with others. The E-Factor is about empathy, an important trait to examine when learning to cope with anger.
- Module 6
What To Do if Things go Pear Shaped & Powerful Phrases That Can Help
In this session of the anger management workshop, we will look at how to identify your own build-up signs and also strategies to employ when all else has failed. Sometimes you can do everything right and still have an “off day” – we can teach you how to deal with it.
- Module 7 and module 8
Lifestyle Changes and Interagency Work/Reviewing Challenging Behaviours
The final modules are about making long-term changes to keep your anger controlled. We will also reflect on past behaviours that occurred because of anger.
Anger Management Workshop: Handouts
Each participant will receive a workbook which will have an exercise relevant to that week’s session. The handouts are a helpful guide and are also important in understanding the workshop material.
